About Me

My first-grade teacher wrote a letter calling me a "gifted writer."

I've been chasing that high ever since.

Katie Melynn is a fiction writer with work in Hallaren Literary Magazine, Pen in Hand Literary Magazine, and others. Her professional entrance to writing began with interviews and profiles, which she's written for publications including At Ease, SHORE Monthly, and others. She was recognized as a 2021 Author Fellow at the Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing Summer Conference and was a 2022 Writer-in-Residence at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. Teaching creative writing with the Apex Arts magnet program in Annapolis, Katie lives in Maryland with her husband and three children.​
