About Me

My first-grade teacher wrote a letter calling me a "gifted writer."

I've been chasing that high ever since.

As an adult, I've developed as a writer and person while teaching, traveling, and having three of my own kids. I write full-time and teach part-time for the Apex Arts Magnet Program in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, where I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by the next generation of gifted writers.

In 2021 and 2022, I was recognized as an Author Fellow at the Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing Summer Conference and as a Writer-in-Residence at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. These opportunities have allowed me to engage with a larger community of writers and artists, which is at the heart of all of the work that I do. If you are creating anything, I'd love to connect!
